As a female fan in a male-dominated sport, going to games could feel quite lonely. Since joining IHG I’ve felt less lonely and love seeing all the girls on game day and chatting about our fave team.

Being trans has meant that my access to sport has been whittled down a lot over the past few years, either due to organisational decisions or abuse in the stands. I was worried about being accepted in ice hockey too, but the Ice Hockey Gals group has been so wonderfully accepting and at no point has it been an issue, and helped me have the confidence to attend games in person.

A massive slay for Tara setting up IHG. It really has brought me a bunch of crazy gal friends who love hockey as much as me. Especially in a male dominated sport, it’s so lovely to feel safe & supported by others.
