We're not a hockey team. We're something better.
Ice Hockey Gals started when founder Tara noticed a growing number of women and LGBTQ+ fans who loved hockey but didn't always have people to share it with. There were plenty of fans, but where were the gals who wanted to dissect the power play over a glass of wine afterwards, plan an away trip to see their favourite team or make actual friends through the game they love?
So we stopped looking for it and started building it ourselves.
Today, Ice Hockey Gals is a UK-wide community united by a shared love of ice hockey. Whether you're a lifelong supporter or still figuring out what icing is, you'll find people to cheer with, travel with and talk hockey with.
We do match days, pub trips, crafty afternoons and everything in between.

Meet the founder
After posting a series of TikToks about her local ice hockey team, Tara noticed a common theme in the comments: women from across the UK loved the sport but often didn't have friends who shared their passion.
Combining her background in PR with a love of hockey, Tara founded Ice Hockey Gals in February 2026 to help gals connect with other fans.
When she's not planning community events, creating content or chatting with the gals in the group chat, you'll usually find her with her nose in a book or planning her next trip.
